Indoor
LED Displays and video walls
Manufacturer reference project. Sansi.
Two ranges, from broadcast grade fine pitch to large format retail. Australian supply, warranty and support.
Indoor LED has moved past the meeting room screen. It is the wall behind a reception desk, the arc above a shopping centre void, the control room that runs twenty four hours a day. The two ranges below cover most of it, and the right one usually comes down to how close people get.
How close people get
Pixel pitch is where most specifications start and it is the wrong end to start at. Work out how far away the closest viewer stands, then work back.
| If the closest viewer is | Range | typical Sites |
|---|---|---|
| Under 3 metres away | VE | Boardrooms, control rooms, reception, lift lobbies, studios |
| 5 metres and over | VIH | Shopping centres, foyers, atriums, venues, supermarkets |
If it falls between 3 and 5 metres, either will work. Shape, ambient light and budget decide it. Talk to us and we will narrow it down.
the ranges
VE Series.
Fine pitch and broadcast grade.
The close range option. Pixel pitch 0.93 to 2.48mm, up to 1,200 nits, available in both COB and SMD. Built for spaces where people stand near the screen and detail matters: boardrooms, reception walls, control rooms, studios and virtual production. VE is also available as a curved display, using a curved cabinet that shares the same modules as the flat one.
VIH Series.
Large format and greater distances.
The distance option. Pixel pitch 1.25 to 4.81mm, up to 3,500 nits on selected pitches, ultra slim at 40.5mm with front access maintenance. The larger pitches make big areas affordable to fill, which is why it suits shopping centres, atriums and venues. Cabinet sizes down to 250mm and a chamfered corner cabinet let it turn corners, rotate and split into columns.
Applications
Retail and shopping centres.
Mall voids, tenancy frontage, supermarket and department store.
Corporate and reception.
Feature walls, lift lobbies, boardrooms.
Control rooms and operations centres.
Screens that run continuously and have to stay readable.
Broadcast and studios.
Fine pitch, high refresh and low scan for camera work.
Venues, foyers and atriums.
Large format above a crowd.
four things worth deciding early
These four change the specification more than the pixel pitch does, and they are cheaper to answer now than after the steel is in the ground.
1. How bright is the space?
This is the one that catches people out. VE tops out at 1,200 nits. VIH runs 800 nits as standard, with 3,500 nit versions available on selected pitches. Near glass, under a skylight or in a daylit atrium, the standard product will wash out. If there is natural light in the space, let us know.
2. Is the wall flat, curved or shaped?
Flat is straightforward. A true curve means VE with the curved cabinet. Angular shapes, corners, columns and chamfers are a VIH build. Send a drawing or even a photo/mockup and we will tell you which it is.
3. Can people reach it?
Where the screen is within arm’s reach of the public, COB is worth the extra. The LEDs sit under a sealed resin face, so it handles knocks, cleaning and fingers. SMD costs less per square metre and repairs at lamp level, and it is the option that curves.
4. How will it be serviced?
Front access means you do not need working room behind the screen, which matters when the display is going against a structural wall. Worth confirming before the space is designed around it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What pixel pitch do I need?
It depends on viewing distance more than anything else. Under 3 metres, VE at 0.93 to 2.48mm. From 5 metres out, VIH at 1.25 to 4.81mm. Between the two, either can work.
What is the difference between COB and SMD?
Both are ways of building the module. COB seals the LEDs under a resin face, so it handles knocks and cleaning better and gives higher contrast. SMD mounts individual packages to the module, costs less per square metre, repairs at lamp level and is the option that curves.
Can an LED display curve?
Yes. VE has a curved cabinet that shares the same modules as the flat version. For angular shapes, corners and columns, VIH uses smaller and chamfered cabinets.
Will it be bright enough for an atrium?
Not at standard brightness. Daylit spaces need the high brightness VIH versions. Tell us about the natural light in the space before anything is specified.
Do you install?
No. We supply the display and support it. We can refer you to a contractor.
Who handles a warranty claim?
We do, in Australia. Claims come to Innov8.
